Oman Air restores Dubai, Bahrain and Khasab flights from April 18
Flexible travel policies introduced for disrupted bookings and reissued tickets
DUBAI – Oman Air has announced the resumption of flights to Dubai, Bahrain and Khasab beginning 18 April 2026, marking a phased restoration of its regional network.
The move re-establishes direct connectivity between Muscat and three important Gulf destinations for both business and leisure travellers.
The airline said the reinstated services will be supported by its onboard service standards and signature Omani hospitality, aimed at ensuring a seamless travel experience as operations normalise across selected routes.
Dubai flights
Flights to Dubai will resume as part of the restored schedule, with services set to operate daily, reconnecting one of the region’s busiest travel corridors.

The Bahrain route is also being reinstated from 18 April 2026, re-establishing direct links between Muscat International Airport and Bahrain International Airport after a temporary suspension.

Meanwhile, Khasab services will return on the same date, improving access to the Musandam Peninsula and supporting domestic connectivity within the Sultanate of Oman.

Oman Air noted that while operations are restarting, initial frequencies may be lower than standard schedules, with gradual adjustments expected as the network stabilises. The average flight duration between Muscat and Bahrain is approximately one hour, reinforcing its role as a short-haul regional connection.
Gulf connectivity
The resumption of services is expected to enhance mobility across the Gulf, particularly for travellers relying on direct links between Oman and neighbouring hubs. Bahrain International Airport is currently operating at reduced capacity compared to pre-crisis levels, with airlines reinstating routes in phases as conditions improve.
A European Union Aviation Safety Agency advisory remains in place, recommending that EU-registered carriers avoid operations within Bahrain’s Flight Information Region until at least 24 April 2026. The restriction does not affect Oman Air, as it is not an EU-based carrier, though it has impacted several European airlines that have yet to resume Bahrain services.
Passengers travelling through Bahrain have been advised to verify flight schedules in advance, as timings remain subject to change during the ongoing recovery phase across the region’s aviation sector.
Booking flexibility
Oman Air has introduced a flexible booking policy for passengers affected by cancellations linked to the disruption. Customers are eligible for a full refund with all penalties waived, regardless of fare conditions. Alternatively, travellers may opt for a free date change within 30 days of their original departure date, subject to availability in the same cabin class.
For longer-term adjustments, passengers can also request a free date change beyond 30 days, provided travel is completed by 31 October 2026. Any fare difference will apply if the original booking class is unavailable at the time of reissue. In addition, destination changes within the same country or to locations within a 500-mile radius of the original destination are permitted without extra charges. All ticket reissues must be completed by 31 May 2026, with direct bookings manageable through Oman Air’s official channels.
Frankfurt update
In parallel with its regional adjustments, Oman Air will also shift its Frankfurt operations to Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport from 25 April 2026. The move is designed to streamline the passenger journey with improved facilities, including self check-in and automated bag drop services.
